Workshop: Conmemoración y Rememoración. Procesos de construcción de memoria histórica y legitimidad del Estado.
El workshop pretende ser un espacio de intercambio sobre las cuestiones abordadas. Es por ello que estará dividido en tres sesiones de trabajo: lunes 15 de julio por la mañana y por la tarde (9:00h-12:00h; 14:00h-17:00h), y martes 16 de julio por la mañana (9:00h-12:00h). En cada sesión se realizarán cuatro presentaciones de 20 minutos cada una. Una vez finalizadas las presentaciones, se empleará el resto de la sesión para realizar una discusión entre todos los participantes sobre los casos de estudio y/o análisis teóricos presentados. Los resúmenes de las propuestas (300 palabras) deben ser enviados a Gabriel Ruiz Romero: gruiz@udem.edu.co. Los resúmenes y las presentaciones pueden realizarse en inglés, aunque las discusiones grupales serán en español. La fecha máxima de recepción de los resúmenes es el 10 de mayo de 2019.

Panel discussion with Prof. Markus Schultze-Kraft
Comprehensively laying out the concept of crimilegality, this book presents a novel perspective on the relationship between what is conventionally termed organised crime and political order in the contemporary developing world. In hybrid crimilegal orders the moral, normative and social boundaries between legality and illegality-criminality are blurred, and through the violation of the official law, the illegal-criminal sphere of social life becomes legitimate and morally acceptable, while the legal turns illegitimate and immoral. Several examples of crimilegality and crimilegal governance in Colombia and Nigeria, including in relation to armed conflict termination, are used to illustrate these complex processes.

Panel discussion: "Colombia: Contributions by the German Latin American research to the Peace Process"
The Latin American Institute and the German-Colombian Peace Institute CAPAZ in cooperation with the German ministry for Foreign Affairs extend an invitation to the interested public for the panel discussion “Colombia: Contributions by the German Latin American research to the Peace Process”, on Thursday, November 22 , 2018. The panel discussion will present the current research on Colombia in Germany. Ten scientific experts from German universities and institutions will give an insight into their research and comment on the current issues concerning the Peace Process in Colombia. A complete list of active participants can be found on the poster. The event will be held in German.
