"Implications of violence in the socialization of young people in enclaves of poverty"

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Gonzalo A. Saraví (CIESAS)

The research undertaken focuses on understanding the processes of socialization of young people living in urban enclaves of poverty and the implications that violence has on these processes. With this I will explore and analyze the configuration of a heterogeneous youth that is part of a wider setting of structural violence that includes criminalization of poor youngsters living in peripheral urban neighborhoods.

(2015): Resist with style. Lifestyles of indigenous youth living in the outskirts of San Cristobal, Mexican Institute of Youth. Mexico (forthcoming).
