Cultural and Social Anthropology at LAI offers the BA degree program in Social and Cultural Anthropology together with the Institute for Ethnology and the Institute of Comparative Music Studies. The integration of these three subjects during the six-semester program allows students to acquire theoretical and methodological competencies on different regions and continents. Beginning with the third semester, they can concentrate on the region of Latin America. At LAI, students are introduced to languages like Náhuatl, Maya and Quechua, which are structurally distinct from European languages. They also learn to analyze the diverse types of audio-visual media.
