Call for Papers

2nd Junior Workshop on Economics of Latin America

9–10 July 2026

Berlin, Germany

Submissions are open to a 2-day workshop on Economics of Latin America, specifically designed for junior scholars. The workshop is hosted by the Institute for Latin American Studies (LAI) at the Freie Universität Berlin.

PhD students and non-tenured postdoctoral researchers are invited to submit full paper drafts by February 28, 2026.

Keynote: Prof. Dr. Marcela Ibañez (University of Göttingen).

We welcome submissions with a clear regional focus on Latin America that intersect with development economics.

The workshop aims to provide a unique opportunity to connect early-career researchers working on Latin American economics in a constructive and collaborative atmosphere.
