The International Research Training Group (IRTG) ‘Temporalities of Future in Latin America: Dynamics of Aspiration and Anticipation’ is located at the Institute for Latin American Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin. It offers highly qualified young researchers excellent study facilities of high scientific standards. Together with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Universität Potsdam, El Colegio de México, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social in Mexico City, it provides a joint research and study programme.
The Berlin-Potsdam region is internationally reknown for its research and network on Latin American Studies. Therefore, it offers an excellent environment for research and discussions. The IRTG’s institutional link to the Dahlem Research School of Freie Universität Berlin provides further opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange. Its Mexican partners are among the country’s leading research institutions and have produced cutting-edge research approaches in their respective fields.
The close cooperation with Mexican partner institutions enables a combination of diverse perspectives on studies on temporalities and offers both empirical research and theoretical debate.
