How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected food systems? To contribute to this reflection, the Food for Justice research group has been studying this phenomenon in Brazil and Germany.

News from Nov 18, 2020

To answer this question in relation to the Brazilian case, we will conduct a survey starting on November 20, 2020. The survey will be done by telephone, and will be directed to two distinct population samples: I) twothousand people, composing a representative sample of the public opinion of the Brazilian population; II) 458 women activists of the Margaridas March, already interviewed in August 2019 by our research group, which will allow us to compare changes and permanences of their living conditions along the last year.

Our goal is to produce data that portrays the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Brazilian population, from an intersectional perspective, in order to capture possible trends of deepening food inequalities. With this, we intend to support the construction of responses to the challenge of feeding the world in a fair, healthy and ecological way.
