• knowledge of the organizations and processes of international crisis management and the theoretical-conceptual ideas behind them
• ability to analyze the processes of political, social and economic transformation in Latin American countries, both in their respective local and historical and global contexts

• analysis of current crises and conflicts in Latin America, specifically regarding their historical development and their integration in global contexts
• critical consideration of local applications of democratic-theoretical and developmental-political approaches, developmental-strategic approaches in Latin American countries as well as the importance of international interventions
• analysis of the organizations and processes of international crisis management and the theoretical-conceptual ideas behind them
• examination of the role of social movements and public spheres in the context of processes of democratization with special consideration of gender relations and cultural differences
