• ability to assess the academic contribution of the canon and discourse-forming texts in research on Latin America

• analysis of key texts and concepts in research on Latin America which transgress interdisciplinary boundaries, as well as their historical development
• concepts and paradigms in research on Latin America and the transformation of their meaning in the description and interpretation of Latin American reality and the representations of this reality
• critical overview of the approaches in social, cultural and text analysis as well as gender studies
• discussion of historical and interdisciplinary dynamics of the circulation of terms and the transformation of their meaning in changing contexts
