Katrin List holds a diploma in social sciences from the Freie Universität Berlin and a PhD in social sciences from the Ruhr University Bochum. She worked as a coordinator for a BMBF project at Fern Universität Hagen, for an ERASMUS MUNDUS project at the University of Paderborn and for Internationalization at the Witten Herdecke University. While doing her PhD in Bochum she worked as a research associate and coordinator of the EC project at the Chair of Criminology and Police Science. After finishing her PhD, she worked as a research associate at the German Aerospace Center in the department for Equal Opportunities/ Gender Research and Integration in Bonn. She went back to working at the Chair of Criminology and Police Sciences in 2016 before she started working as a research associate at the Chair of Sociology, Social Inequality and Gender at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2017.
