Zaira Carvajal Orlich

Zaira Carvajal Orlich is a psychologist and holds a master’s degree in Women’s Studies. She is a lecturer at the National University in Costa Rica, co-founder of the Institute of Women’s Studies and its first elected director. She has promoted and coordinated programs about Gender Mainstreaming in higher education, done research and published articled about Gender and Education and sexual harassment in National and International journals. She is currently the Co-Coordinator of the Action Plan for Gender Equality and Equity at the National University in Costa Rica. She received the Margherita-von-Brentano price from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2013 for the project MISEAL (Measures for the Social Inclusion and Equality in higher education institutions). Zaira Carvajal Orlich is also a consultant at the Institute for Educational Sciences for interdisciplinary investigation at the National University la Pampa in Argentina.
