Yudy Adriana Gamboa Vesga is a PhD candidate in Social and Human Sciences at the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. She holds a Master's degree in International and Development Economics from the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin and a degree in Economics from the Universidad Industrial de Santander. She is also an associate professor in the Economics program at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga, where she teaches Economic Development and Economics and International Trade, among other courses. Yudy will be doing a two-month research stay at the Lateinamerika-Institut between May and July 2025. During her stay she will work on her doctoral research, whose central theme is the relationship between peacebuilding and citizen participation in the framework of the Colombian peace agreement signed in 2016. This research employs a mixed methodology that includes the measurement of peacebuilding in Colombian municipalities, the characterization of various citizen participation exercises and a causal analysis using process tracing in selected municipalities.
